Managed communications for two UK Consumer Healthcare Businesses. Involved internal and external communications, media relations and crisis management. Supported high profile brands such as Ribena, Lucozade, Aquafresh, Panadol and NiQuitin.

Developed and implemented a communication strategy for the Global Supply Initiative (GSI), a four-year restructuring programme which closed down excess manufacturing plants resulting in annual savings of £200 million. The communication spanned 40 countries and involved multiple stakeholders including colleagues, works councils, shareholders, media and MP’s.Devised and managed an employee engagement campaign for 100 factories in 40 countries with over 40,000 employees. This campaign successfully delivered positive business messages during major change and included conferences, site visits, videos, cascade briefings, quarterly newsletters and monthly reports. During the merger of SmithKline Beecham and Glaxo Wellcome in 2001 (which would create GlaxoSmithKline – then the world’s largest Pharmaceutical company) managed communication for the Manufacturing and Purchasing organisations. This included the development of a new intranet site, cascade briefings, videos, articles, trade press release and a global supplier communication programme.

Designed, developed and maintained a communication programme for global Purchasing organisation.Assessed and resolved Purchasing’s training and development needs.

Standardised all in-house purchasing training courses, organised and managed all courses in the UK, Europe and US.

Created a launch campaign for the implementation of SB Desktop (SB’s Windows system).Sourced, tested and approved training materials. Set up ‘in house’ training. Provided one-to-one training sessions for senior managers.
