Serves as Deputy Program Manager, Operations Support for the Environmental Management (EM) Nevada (NV) Program. The EM NV Program addresses the environmental liabilities of over 40 years of nuclear weapons testing and Cold War weapons production at various locations in the United States, as well as nuclear research and development on the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS), formerly known as the Nevada Test Site. Current environmental liabilities include cost of future cleanup activities associated with environmental contamination, management of the resulting hazardous and radioactive materials, and management of the facilities required for radioactive waste disposal.

Provided policy and communications advice to the Assistant Secretary and Principle Deputy Assistant Secretary responsible for EM. Directed activities related to advisory board management and state, local, tribal and other stakeholders to further public participation goals of DOE cleanup mission. Approved and directed funding to contractual and cooperative agreements totaling $2M annually.

Office Of Environmental Management, Las Vegas, Nevada Area

Coordinated public, media and Congressional communication related to the Office of Environmental Management’s (EM) cleanup mission. Provided expert advice and assistance to the Assistant Secretary for EM, the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for EM, Director of External Affairs, and other senior leaders in the Department of Energy (DOE). Responsible for informing and involving interested and impacted parties in the EM program for the purpose of achieving nuclear cleanup goals. Coordinated the DOE Cognizant Field Element Emergency Preparedness. Handled all State of Nevada and Federal (FBI, OST) community outreach interactions.

Led the Continuous Improvement Organization in the development of all continuous improvement processes in support of the future nuclear waste repository. Responsible for Business Process Development, Corrective Action, Self-Assessment, Trending, Performance Indicator, and Operating Experience/Lessons Learned Programs. Reassigned to NNSA due to Yucca Mountain Closure.
