In 2015 I set up "Your Hwb" with Cathy Heavers. We identified a clear need to provide one central point of useful information for the local community. Since then the business has grown significantly and we now create and distribute our Community Handbooks in both a paper and digital format to a population in excess of 7000 residents. We have offered help and advice to a significant number of start up businesses during this time sharing the knowledge that we have built up to benefit our local communities. Initially I was asked to take responsibility for two complex hospital implmentations that had run into difficulties. I then moved on to manage the Customers Service team for the Northern Region in the UK, responsible for the implementations in the North West hospitals. After that I took on responsibility for the three teams managing over 100 hospitals across the country and staffed implementations as far away as S Africa and Dubai. Torex took over the SMS UK operations and after I was made Head of Primary Care and tasked with rationising 13 seperate primary software systems that supported over 3500 GP surgeries across the UK. During that time there were several acquisitions of other GP software systems and I worked to integrate the systems and their customers into Torex. I was promoted to Head of Operations (UK) initially for Secondary Care - responsible for a large team of operations staff managing and implementing computer systems 24/7 at 114 hospitals across the UK. After the acquisition by Torex Healthcare my role was extended to include Primary Care (UK). This included over a range of clinical systems operating in 3500 GP surgeries.

Working as a Senior Project Manager I provided operational support to a group of hospitals in the N West of the UK using the companies software. This involved implementing interfaces between a range of different clinical systems at each hospital, whilst developing existing patient administration systems. Working closely with product development and technical support.

After the acquisition of the Hoskyns health division by FDC I continued my career, promoted to Senior Consultant I trained and managed other staff across the UK. My role also involved working with our US colleagues on the development and implementation of the hospital management software. I worked in Atlanta, UK and Ireland. My role also inluded providing support to the development staff in Ireland and advice to the Helpdesk staff in the UK.

I worked with a team of clinicians implementing administrative and clinical systems in hospitals across the UK and Ireland. I provided sales support, prepared RFP's, did demonstrations. We project managed large scale implementations including migrating large volumes of data, setting up interfaces with numerous departmental systems and detailing and managing the development of software enhancements/changes as part of this.

This was a new service within the Trust - with responsibility for providing the statutory information services to the Regional and District Health Authority. We also established the intial systems for GP Fund holding within the Trust. There were also numerous improvements in information sharing systems including a new discharge summary process with services and personnel from across the hospital involved. I was responsible for the Outpatients, Inpatients, Waiting List, Maternity, Accident and Emergency, Clinical Coding and secretarial operational services at this large 900 bedded teaching hospital. My role also included Major Incident Management, Medico Legal services, Press releases etc. I managed over 200 staff across the site. During my time at the Trust we introduced the first computer systems to manage the administrative elements mentioned above.
