CATHERINE LOKE obtained her Bachelor of Planning & Design in 1989 and BArch(Hons) in 1992 from the University of Melbourne. She has been a Singapore Registered Architect since 1998 and partner in Lander Loke Architects since 1999. Catherine is a hands-on practitioner, and over the years has acquired in-depth skills from design and documentation to contract administration and code compliance, and the use of Building Information Modelling to enable better design and more efficient delivery.Catherine is the Founding President of The Circle for Human Sustainability, with a deep interest in the socio-economic aspects of sustainability. She was also the First Vice-President of the Singapore Institute of Architects (SIA) from 2018 to 2020. In SIA, she was actively involved in drafting practice guides and standard forms of contracts over the past decade. She was also a member of the BCA BIM Legal & Contractual Workgroup in 2013. Catherine served as the Chief Examiner for the Board of Architects Singapore's Professional Practice Examination from 2014/15 to 2016/17, and is currently a Board Member. As an educator, she has been teaching architectural practice at the National University of Singapore since 2017 and was appointed Adjunct Lecturer at Temasek Polytechnic in 2023, co-developing and conducting the module on Sustainability & Systems Thinking for adult learners. In 2022/23, she mentored a group of students in a Capstone project at the Singapore University of Technology and Design, designing the game "Resourcity" to educate the public on sustainability and resource management in an urban context.In July 2024, she became a Certified Permaculture Designer under the Permaculture Research Institute, Australia.In recognition of her contribution to the industry, she was awarded the Women of the Built Environment Award at the RICS Awards 2020 Southeast Asia.For more information, visit:https://landerloke.com.sg/catherine-loke/ https://tchs-global.org/
