Over the past decade I have accumulated a rich background in scientific research as well as it's operational governance and management at a globally renowned genomic research organisation. During this time, I orchestrated and delivered upon large scale and collaborative projects both directly contributing to model organism related research efforts, and that formed the structure enabling legal and ethical compliance Institute-wide.As part of later leadership, I focussed on innovative, streamlined and effective operational workflows across multidisciplinary teams as applied to and interlinked with the area of the use of non-human materials within research, leading and implementing the strategic delivery of a new area of legislative compliance, fostering collaborative working relationships within the scientific and policy sectors globally, supporting and facilitating the growth of the area of Access and Benefit Sharing (ABS) from a unique position.The combination of scientific insight, operational and legislative excellence in the area of ABS and biodiversity-led legislation, and passion for its success and widespread elucidation has allowed me to launch 'Simply ABS Consulting'. Whereby I hope that unique perspectives of high-scale and global practical implementation and compliance; as recognised as 'Best Practice' by the UK Secretary of State, matched with organisational strategy and thought leadership skills are able to provide organisations with the confidence, thorough understanding and tools to successfully position themselves for the future of the scientific research sector, in accordance with the global biodiversity legislative landscape.
