As the Energy Regulatory Department Chair and Partner at Bracewell LLP, a global law firm with a strong focus on the energy sector, I lead a team of over 20 lawyers who provide effective and strategic solutions for our clients' energy regulatory needs and challenges. I have over 25 years of experience in energy regulatory and policy matters, representing clients before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and other federal and state agencies (including the Department of Energy and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission). Our clients include asset owners as well as investors and lenders. Our work for asset owners strengthens our ability to represent investors and lenders due to our high level of understanding of the industry's regulatory issues. My practice covers a wide range of issues and transactions related to electric transmission and generation, including renewable energy projects, mergers and acquisitions, rates and tariffs, compliance and enforcement, and market design and participation. My goals are to advance the development and integration of sustainable energy resources and technologies while also working to ensure that sufficient investment in related electric transmission to deliver the resources to market is made and that the costs of such investment is allocated fairly. I also served as the Chair of the American Bar Association's Infrastructure and Regulated Industries Section (ABA IRIS). I continue to be active in IRIS as the Chair of the Renewable Energy Committee.
