I write the weekly horoscopes for The Loyola Phoenix.

During the fall of my sophomore year, I co-bylined “A Neighborhood of Scares: The Haunted Homes of Rogers Park,” an article praised by the faculty advisor for being on par with Chicago Sun-Times articles. I read and wrote a book review for Sr. Jean’s autobiography during my first year on a 24-hour deadline. I have written various news, opinion, and arts articles — including features, essays, columns, reviews, and event coverage.

I review and revise every arts article submitted to The Phoenix. I also plan and present weekly meetings alongside the other Arts Editors where I offer advice on journalistic writing, consider and further develop writers' pitches, and field questions.

My primary job is to go door to door, canvassing for Mr. LaGrand's campaign. I educate voters on his policies and answer any other questions they may have about voting or the election.

Worked in this position in the summer of 2023 as well. Provided friendly, courteous service to both concessions and catering event guests. Served meals, and arranged tableware and other catering supplies. Cleared and cleaned dishes, silverware, and glassware following catering events. Restocked products and prepared concessions stations for both opening and closing. Bartended partial and full bars for catered events.

I am cataloguing hundreds of primary source documents to aid in the construction of a digital archive and searchable database containing primary sources related to a larger research project on Eating Disorders titled “Pathologies of Democracy: The Rise of Disordered Eating in the Twentieth Century World.” I will also do some primary source research of my own, learning techniques for locating different genres of primary sources, all of which will also be added to the database.
