CurrentLitigating cases under state and federal employment law in Illinois, California, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Colorado, Arizona, as well as the American Arbitration Association.Litigating cases under The Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (“ERISA”), including violations of The Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985 (“COBRA”).Litigating cases under the Illinois Biometric Privacy Act (“BIPA”).Conducting extensive legal research and investigating potential violations of state and federal wage and hour laws, particularly under the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Illinois Minimum Wage Law and the Illinois Wage Payment and Collection Act, as well as in the areas of ERISA violations, BIPA violations, antitrust law and consumer protection law.Leading and co-leading litigation strategy meetings, as well as other colleagues with regard to discovery tasks and motion practice.Briefing motions for conditional certification under the FLSA and motions for class certification under FRCP 23.Drafting and responding to motions for summary judgment, motions to dismiss, motions to strike and attorneys’ fee petitions.Drafting numerous complaints, demand letters, initial discovery disclosures and written discovery requests and responses.Reviewing and analyzing thousands of discovery documents in individual, class and collective action cases.Taking, attending and defending numerous depositions.Attending state and federal court to appear for status hearings and argue motions.Co-leading numerous mediation sessions and settlement conferences.Assisting in the negotiation of settlements for both individual and class and collective employment cases ranging from $10,000 to $3,250,000.Participating in attorney-client conferences; maintaining and fostering client relationships.
