Trainer Of Coders
• Training of medical coders using the H.I.P.E. coding system.• Follow up of hospital personnel who have undertaken training courses, by visiting them at their own hospital.• Answering telephone & written queries regarding allocation of correct numerical code for various diseases & conditions.• Taking telephone calls from hospital consultants, doctors, students and also from the wider business community who wish to obtain statistical information on various illness and conditions and many other variables using the information available in the Hospital In-Patient Enquiry data which was submitted by hospitals nationwide.• Checking lists of data submitted by hospitals nationwide for accuracy & sending back queries for the coder to check in their hospital.• Writing hospital visit reports following any hospital visits I made.• Being part of the team within the E.S.R.I. H.I.P.E. unit who organized the planning of training courses and workshops for hospital personnel nationwide who worked on the H.I.P.E. system and collating booklets and handouts for same.
