I worked on the H.I.P.E. (Hospital In Patient Enquiry) scheme and was based in many Dublin hospitals including St. James' & St. Vincent's . I extracted the information required from patients admission notes when they were discharged from hospital and assigned the relevant clinical codes for their hospital stay which included the mode of admission to hospital, duration of stay, marital status and most importantly their disease or medical condition and any procedures carried out.
