I am an experienced occupational therapist who has worked with children and young people for over 30 years. After many years working in the NHS I now work in my own private practice. With post-grad qualifications in Ayres Sensory Integration® I often apply this framework when working with clients. My work with clients from all over Scotland can involve face to face and telehealth appointments.I also provide training courses on how to support those with sensory processing and integration difficulties that can impact on an individual's regulation (attention, movement, sleep, emotions, etc.), movement coordination, self-care tasks, play, learning and social skills. These are adjusted to be helpful for different groups: parents, education and social work staff, voluntary sector personnel, etc.I help to organise the Scottish Ayres Sensory Integration® AHP Group which is for any occupational, speech or physio therapist who is keen to learn more about ASI and implement it in their practice. We share information on the evidence base, training opportunities and practical application in practice.I am depute lead for Scotland for the normative data collection project of the new assessment, Evaluation in Ayres Sensory Integration (EASI).I recently joined the team at ASI WISE as a tutor and Coordinator of "Coffee and Chat", the weekly gathering of the ASI WISE Community of Practice where we keep up to date with the latest evidence and assessment tools, discuss issues in our clinical practice, share resources and support each other.
