I provided external and internal communications to the Culture, Communities and Business Services (CCBS) portfolio, covering a wide range of areas including the countryside and library services. I worked in a fast paced office, typically carrying out a range of daily tasks including: writing engaging press releases; responding to reactive media enquiries; taking photos; recording, editing and producing videos for social media; writing Executive Member briefings; writing copy for the regular County Council e-newsletter; using content management systems to publish releases; and producing staff articles. I am an efficient and effective team player with a ton of initiative to also think and create independently. I work well under pressure thanks to working for NHS comms; and I can multi-task to a very high level. One of my proudest career moments to date has been the fact that the #springready campaign I devised whilst at SCAS won the silver Best Use of Social Media category at the 2015 regional CIPR awards.

I worked across external and internal comms for South Central Ambulance Service which has a resident population of 4 million throughout Hampshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, with a staff base of 3,500. I planned and implemented several successful external public awareness campaigns covering seasonal topics such as road safety, planning your medication, allergy awareness and so on. These campaigns (summersafe, autumnaware, winterwise and springready) have encompassed multimedia platforms including press releases, photos, broadcast interviews and tweets. The campaigns have consistently generated broad press coverage and public engagement.I had overall responsibility in planning and organising SCAS's annual staff awards, The Ambies. Each year, the Ambies are hosted in one of our four counties and 2014 was Hampshire. I sourced the venue, the photographer, the band and the celebrity presenter (Simon Weston OBE) as well as inviting local dignitaries. I co-managed the nomination process, overseeing the judging panel and handling the RSVP list for 240 staff. On the night, I worked with my colleagues to ensure that the event went smoothly. Feedback from staff was very positive. My daily responsibilities were handling reactive press enquiries. I also generate proactive positive stories about SCAS patients and staff. These articles are featured in our weekly internal newsletter, Staff Matters as well as externally on our website, SCAS999 Twitter feed, press releases and our quarterly public magazine, Working Together.I co-managed the SCAS Twitter feed, using Hootsuite to schedule tweets to support ongoing campaigns as well as continual messaging such as appropriate use of the Ambulance Service.I lead the 2015 flu campaign for SCAS staff. I also partnered with the Police and Crime Commissioner's Office in Hampshire to pilot a Legal Highs Awareness Week.
