Wanting to gain experience in administrative work, CRMs, and data analysis, I was hired onto the admissions team. I was brought in to streamline admissions processes between the Custom Education and Expedition departments. In this high intensity customer service role I scheduled and performed screening calls with around 672 students and worked as part of the webinar team, helping parents and students navigate the enrollment process. Impacts:- Collaborating with colleagues and external partners to produce training videos for onboarding employees and updating standard operating procedures. -Creating a data driven project to identify pinch points during high volume call times. -Analyzed weekly surveys with Google Data Studio to ensure ongoing feedback loops for process improvements.-Rapidly onboarded 60 new hires when our team experienced staff shortages.

I ordered supplies, monitored inventory, and designed custom meal plans for 160-240 expeditions for NOLS Southwest and NOLS Pacific Northwest annually. Each 30-day expedition had on average 15 people. Each meal plan accommodated a variety of allergies, dietary preferences, and caloric needs. Additional considerations for pack weight, weather, and distribution methods added to the overall complexity of the meal designs. During my time I explored ways to reduce food waste and further customize meal plans to better serve client needs. Impact:- Redesigned new system for managing severe allergies, now used as standard allergy procedures for all U.S. based locations. -Modified standard operating procedures to align with the companies COVID-19 protocols, allowing for the continued success of programs during the pandemic.-Created instructional visual aides as a way to help staff teach nutrition to incoming students. -Reformatted worksheets to aid in task delegation to assistants and seasonal interns. -Preserved 20% of the summer season budget to be used for Covid-19 related expenses by condensing our supplier base.

I guided groups of 8-13 students weekly in the Santa Monica Mountains, incorporating social emotion learning and leadership techniques into daily activities. These 3-5 day courses culminated in students completing a self-led research project. I simultaneously worked as a Site Manager, an intermediary between visiting schools and the rental site. Impact: Expanded educational lessons and materials for teaching creative sustainable solutions for addressing food waste.
