A key, creative member of the internal exhibits team responsible for interpretative planning and effectiveness of exhibits at the Vancouver Aquarium. Helped in the development of major exhibits and functioned as subject matter expert for external consultants. Opened a promotional exhibit called Water Babies with internal design and curatorial teams in three months for Spring Break 2020. Wrote copy for all of the Aquarium’s reopening signs during the pandemic restrictions; ensured tone and messages helped visitors easily follow instructions. Curated and produced two new pinned insect displays in collaboration with Amazon gallery curator and design and carpentry teams.

Responsible for managing the development of stories and for seeking, acquiring and ensuring the scientific accuracy of content produced by the Content & Digital Experience team for multiple outputs, including gallery exhibits, print materials and digital media. Led content development for over 25 exhibits at the Vancouver Aquarium and at other locations including the B.C. Children’s Hospital and the Beijing Aquarium in collaboration with in-house and external content experts, curators, biologists and the Design Department.

Acted as a central coordinator for the Vancouver Aquarium's AquaNews Program. Actively sought, acquired and published aquatic related news daily for distribution to content partners. Oversaw the smooth operation of the AquaNews desk - the public engagement component of the program. Recruited, trained and managed volunteers who used props and news stories to engage visitors on ocean conservation issues. Networked and maintained relationships with AquaNews content partners. Wrote and developed exhibit content as required.

Researched and wrote content for exhibit graphics that interpreted live exhibits. Updated tone, standardized content and overhauled system for production of identification labels for the Aquarium's display species. Collaborated with curators to ensure accuracy of content across the entire Aquarium. Writing duties also included articles for the member's magazine, scripts for radio spots, and fund raising and marketing materials.

Started as an Interpreter giving whale shows, natural history talks and gallery tours to Aquarium visitors, which eventually evolved into assisting in hiring, training and supervision of Aquarium Interpreters. With the coming of fall, my duties expanded to include coordinating school programs, such as a marine laboratory program for students. My responsibilities included the training and supervision of volunteer educators, as well as the care and husbandry of local wet lab species.
