• HCPC-registered Clinical Scientist in Andrology• Communicate with a broad range of professionals to plan patient fertility treatment, including embryologists, nurses, fertility consultants, urologists, spinal injury consultants, and GUM consultants. • Perform semen analyses to make decisions about fertility treatment and refer patients for further testing as appropriate, e.g. genetic and endocrine testing and retrograde analysis• Semen cryopreservation and preparation for IUI, IVF, and ICSI.• Coordinate surgical sperm retrievals with the urologist and electroejaculations with the spinal unit, including preparation and cryopreservation of the resulting samples. • Manage the sperm bank and storage consent expiry process, and manage the importation, recruitment, and screening of sperm donors.• Lead appointments with patients to obtain informed consent on HFEA consent forms for treatment, cryopreservation, surrogacy and donation.

- Gained one of two direct entry positions on the first ever NHS Scientist Training Programme for Andrology..- Elective placement spent at the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute in Washington DC, and Magee Women’s Research Institute in Pittsburgh PA learning about ovarian and testicular tissue cryopreservation in endangered species and pre-pubertal children.

4 week internship at the Smithsonian Conservation and Biology Institute.

Carried out research to validate and determine reference ranges for a new diagnostic test (Mioxsys) measuring oxidative stress in semen. Performed diagnostic semen analysis, including post-vasectomy and retrograde ejaculation samples. Also performed TZI morphology, antisperm antibody, reactive oxygen species, vitality, and fructose testing as required.

-Communicated with doctors and patients regarding diagnostic test results.-Used analytical thinking to resolve any issues that arose.-Dealt with queries and complaints via phone and email on behalf of the company.-Used patient databases to access test results.-Multi-tasked to carry out a wide range of administrative tasks while handling large call volumes.

Worked alongside researchers in Prof. Bazbek Davletov's laboratory to study innovative protein stapling methods to specifically target neuronal cells and block neurotransmitter release in E.coli. Involved generating SNARE proteases from Botulinum Neurotoxins that cleave intraneuronal SNARE proteins required for neurotransmitter release.Included:-SDS-PAGE, fluorescence imaging to visualise mCherry staining, western blotting, culturing and transformation of E.coli, autoclaving, centrifugation, and pipetting.
