Managing the reservations team and assisting the revenue manager within the 81 bedroom golf resort and spa. I assist the revenue manager with rate management and resort revenue strategies to ensure targets are met and exceeded by maximizing rates and room occupancy. I also liaise with third party agents and websites regarding availability, promotions, offers and advertising to promote and raise the profile of the resort.I supervise and support the reservations team on a daily basis. I have implemented training standards and procedures in order for the team to meet and exceed the required AA 4* standards.

Working as part of the management team within the prestigious Alderley Edge Hotel and the 3AA Rosette restaurant, my responsibilites inlcuded managing the reception and night auditor team of 10 staff. I performed a key integral role within the hotel management team and provided PA and administrative support to the Operations and General Managers as well as offering guidance and solutions to often confidential and sensitive situations. I also maintained company website for online marketing purposes. Responsible for staff recruitment, training, development and motivation across reception and fron of house. Ensuring the team effectively communicated and strived to be the best in class whilst maintaining exemplary levels of customer service throughout all day to day tasks.

Using my own experiences and skills I was responsible for delivery of NVQ qualifications to a caseload of over thirty learners within the hospitality industry, supporting the learners throughout training cycle whilst accurately documenting the process.This role required a high degree of communication, organization, planning and self motivation to achieve and exceed targets, utilized a key account management approach.Throughout this position I displayed a high degree of business acumen by effectively managing a large business area along with team leadership and management as I managed the team in my line managers absence. I was highly successful, winning Regional Monthly Performance awards twice in 2008. I also trained and mentored new employees who also quickly became highly successful within the company. I regularly liaised with regional director to ensure target deadlines were met and was responsible for motivating the team to achieve stretching targets.

I Initially started work in the restaurant alongside the management team, subsequently I progressed to banqueting manager which involved event management. I managed major functions from start to finish including weddings and major celebrity events through which I found the role highly rewarding, achieving great job satisfaction due to the events’ successes. My position rapidly progressed to recruit, manage and train new teams, folllowed by promotion to restaurant supervisor. This role focused on improving the already award winning service provided to the customer base for which the hotel prided itself upon. It also involved further recruitment, training and development of new / current staff, the writing and maintenance of rotas and staff levels along with motivating staff to deliver high standards in order to exceed customer expectation every day. This position also continued with the organisation of large corporate events and weddings.

Joined on a trainee management scheme and gained experience in all departments including accounting, dealing with conference enquiries, housekeeping, restaurant/reception/bar management work. Completion of the scheme resulted in promotion to assistant manager and duty management shifts. I was also involved in health and safety training and completion of risk assessment records.
