The primary responsibilities of this role include: • Plan and implement Direct-Instruction lessons for students with and without a variety of learning challenges, including language-based learning differences, ADHD, executive functioning challenges, and several other diagnosed LDs• Utilize research-based reading, writing and math programs, including The Wilson Reading System, Reading Mastery, and Jump Math, with a focus on multi-modal/ multi-sensory instructional methods• Communicate with parents and classroom teachers through monthly progress reports, email, and monthly phone-conferences

• Prepared dynamic materials and activities to help students (ages 6-17) with classroom homework and/or new concepts in a one-on-one setting• Implemented engaging strategies to help students with a variety of learning styles and exceptionalities (Asberger’s, test anxiety, ADHD) gain confidence and progress academically. • Regularly communicated and listened to the concerns of both parents and the student to provide up-to-date feedback, guidance and appropriate support.

• Taught and implemented the school’s curriculum to small (2-8) groups of middle and high school-aged students • Prepared additional materials and used a variety of techniques to provide differentiated instruction and ensure comprehension of the texts• Marked students’ tests and assignments and gave personalized feedback each class to help students improve their writing skills

• Taught classes of 1-6 students in a variety of subjects: Academic English Reading and Writing (from Kindergarten to Grade 12), Essay Writing, OSSLT, Lego and Bridge Building, Primary Science, Cooking and Nutrition, and Debate Club. • Prepared lesson plans for each class as well as comprehensive materials, and activities.• Provided differentiated instruction to accommodate and support each student• Responsible for daily correspondence with parents, monthly assessments and report cards.• Corresponded with other teachers to develop professionally and offer guidance and support• Created and implemented the Focus Learning curriculum in collaboration with two other Ontario Certified Teachers. • Facilitated and organized lunchtime programs for 20-30 kids in a variety of schools in Toronto. • Development of Quantum Kidz Lego Curriculum (spanning 20 weeks) that assists the Ontario Curriculum for grades 1-6. • Responsible for the appropriate training of groups of 10-12 new hires
