When working with pre-existing lyrics, I only have so many syllables to fit in what I'm trying to say. Thus, I pay special attention to word choice: if the scene shows Elsa casting magical curlicues into the air, I consciously think about whether the line may be more effective as an option like "Now I'll just start casting magic" or like "Now I'll just start spewing swirlies." When I write, I find myself processing word choice options in the exact same way as when I write parody lyrics.Pursuing YouTube as a career exercised my initiative, work ethic, and communication also. Running a YouTube channel resembles running a small business, so I oversaw every artistic and business aspect of my channel. I maintained a rigorous self-imposed production schedule and communicated with fans and collaborators to bring the greatest value possible. As a writing tutor, I worked with clients with all kinds of writing woes: some just wanted me to look at grammar and flow, some needed help figuring out what they were going to write, and some just didn't understand the prompt.I approached my tutoring with the goal of helping them feel more confident in their own writing and understanding. Whatever their needs, I sought to equip them with grammatical knowledge, brainstorming techniques, or organizational concepts that would help them grow as writers. I wanted to simplify the scary task of "writing an essay" into smaller, more palatable tasks for students, and show that they don't need someone else to write their essay for them—they have what it takes all along.
