Catherine Thacker, Basc, Chemical Engineering Email and Phone Number
I am a senior-level life sciences operations and business expert with experience along the entire manufacturing value chain. I am interested in influence leadership roles within pharma and medtech companies. My working life started within small B2C CGMP manufacturing companies where it was expected that you would wear many hats as we did not have the luxury of “people who do that”. Not for me was the narrow view of only Engineering or Finance or HR or Quality. Thus began my journey to appreciating the interdependent bits and pieces that comprise a successful enterprise. I progressed to larger, multi-national manufacturers, assuming more responsibility – for production, projects, teams, planning, budgets, etc. I was exposed to everything from building construction to operations management. It was during this time that a very insightful executive coach asked what “jazzed” me. My answer? The people I work with, learning something new every day, and enabling positive change. That answer has informed my employment choices ever since. I have worked with many different global companies to develop manufacturing and business plans and strategies. From start-ups to Fortune 50, product launches to life cycle management, the opportunity to engage with key stakeholders, to explore, challenge, transform and influence has been extremely rewarding. And with every new role, I have had the great good fortune to continue to expand my business understanding, most recently adding insights from sales and marketing. This unique perspective, the manufacturing world from product ideation to consumer use, has contributed to more; holistic assessment, judgement, and decision making; streamlined processes; comprehensive strategies; successful goals and objectives delivery; and effective mentoring and talent development. This last is by far the most important to me now, encouraging others to find what “jazzes” them. “When people go to work, they shouldn’t have to leave their hearts at home.” - Betty Bender.
