From 2016-2023, I am serving as the inaugural Distinguished Fellow of the Center for United Nations and Global Governance Studies in addition to teaching graduate classes in international law, international environmental policy and law, and the UN.

Law ProfessorUniversidade Federal Do Rio Grande Do Sul, Brazil Jul 2004 - Sep 2005Porto Alegre, BrazilAs Visiting Foreign Professor of Law, I taught graduate level law school classes full time at UFRGS, a major Federal university in Porto Alegre, Brazil; my lectures were given in Portuguese on international environmental law and the United Nations, and I supervised a study group of law students on transboundary water issues focused on a regional source of groundwater, the Aquifero Guarani. This work led to co-authorship of a law review article published in English by the Texas Law Review (UT-Austin Law School) and in Portuguese by UFRGS. The article, written with Prof. Dra. Claudia Lima Marques and Min. Antonio Benjamin (now a judge of Brazil's Supreme Court), was entitled: "The Water Giant Awakes: Water Law in Brazil and International Law".

Prepared and managed budgets. Created consortium of four universities: Pace, UT-Austin Law School, UFRGS and UFPA, in U.S. and Brazil. Taught international environmental law courses for Pace in New York and gave guest lectures on international environmental law in Brazil at partner university law schools, bar associations, legal conferences and judges' training courses.
