Catherine Woo is an Australian artist based in Hobart, Australia. During her 15 year+ practice she has been included in significant museum exhibitions such as the Adelaide Biennial of Contemporary Australian Art in 2008, Abstract Nature at the Samstag Museum in 2010, and Big Scope - Painting and Landscape at the Lake Macquarie Regional Art Gallery in 2013. She has had commercial representation since 2000, and is currently represented in Melbourne, Hobart and Hong Kong. She has held solo exhibitions since 2000 and completed numerous major corporate commissions, including a recent commission for the China World Trade Centre in Beijing, and has received funding and residencies from government and corporate agencies.Catherine's current practice includes painting, installation and mixed media. She is well known for her large multi-panel installations, using materials and methods that incorporate natural materials and time-based processes.Her most recent pubic art commission is a 20 metre cast aluminium facade for the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Perth.
