Catherine is the Managing Director of Synergies, a charity management consultancy which supports its clients to produce great results in three ways by:• Improving organisational performance and effectiveness;• Diagnosing and solving problems;• Creating added value.Synergies focuses on four areas; strategy, structure, management and operations. It works with clients to build an adaptive, resilient charity which continues to beneficiary needs. Prior to setting up her consultancy Catherine was the Chief Executive of Children's Liver Disease Foundation. Catherine took the charity from £220k to £1.7m turnover, delivered a new vision and led the development of its public profile. She has considerable experience in the healthcare sector and a particular interest working with children, young people and families. Catherine has made successful funding applications to the National Lottery for medical research and BBC Children in Need for social projects. She has worked in consortium with a number of liver based charities both nationally and internationally. She has worked with the Department of Health, professional colleges and lectured widely in the UK and overseas. Catherine graduated with distinction in 2015 with a Master’s degree in Work and Organisational Psychology from Nottingham University. Catherine has served two terms as a trustee on the executive council for the Association of Medical Research Charities and has experience as a non-executive and working in an advisory capacity: • Representative on British Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition;• Medicines for Children Research Network; Charities representative on Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition Clinical Studies Group;• Member - Development of National Liver Strategy; Service Configuration & Workforce Work Stream Member;• Lay Member Guidelines Review Panel, National Institute for Health & Care Excellence (NICE).
