Maven is the largest virtual clinic for women's and family health, offering continuous, holistic care for fertility, pregnancy and parenting. As a Care Advocate, I am the first personal connection with members via video appointment to support their goals with navigation and coaching. My experience in healthcare and education provides me the skills to empathetically support our members through their health journey as I walk with them by providing ongoing case management and serving their care requests. Specifically, I answer our members' questions regarding Maven and also provide personalized online appointment booking support. As a bilingual Mandarin speaker, I serve our Asia Pacific members in countries including but not limited to Singapore, China, and Taiwan.

Honolulu, Hi

I led the Clinical Research team at Hawaii Pacific Neuroscience. My role was to ensure our site ran smoothly and efficiently while adhering to ICH GCP. Our focus was to provide quality care for our patients. With an investment of 5+ years of relationship management, I created a genuine level of trust between my institution and our Hawai`i community, including patient advocacy groups. Additionally, as the supervisor, I created a first-of-its-kind rigorous training program for researchers in the state, leading to the first ACRP-certified coordinators.

I served as a research assistant at Hawaii Pacific Neuroscience for the Hawaii Comprehensive Epilepsy Center. Duties included data collection and analysis with a team of five other researchers. Research studies included but were not limited to epilepsy, Alzheimer's Disease, Parkinson's Disease and dementia. Presented our findings at the 2017 JABSOM Research Symposium.

I ran the JCHS Cheerleading program from 2015-2018. Most notably, I persisted in changing my team culture to being strong student leaders. My team progressed from 8% to 87% of the squad being recognized as "Scholar Athletes" (maintaining a 3.5 GPA or higher during football season) in the three years I coached. Additionally, I strove to nurture student advocacy in my team and brought my entire squad to multiple neighborhood board meetings in efforts to push for a girls locker room and better athletic facilities.

I taught 10th-12th grade Algebra 2 Inclusion. My classes were a mix of general education and special education students. In the classroom, I was the content specialist and I worked closely together with my co-teacher to ensure all our students have access to a quality math education. Together we differentiated our lessons and utilized many AVID-based strategies such as Cornell notes and word walls. Through interactive games and group-work we strove to initiate student engagement and to create a positive learning environment.

I worked as a research assistant at the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine. Duties included using Demon Voltammetry and Analysis Software Suite for Electrophysiology experiments, Cryostat tissue sectioning, understanding of Michaelis-Menten Kinetics in laboratory experiments and exhibiting strong data analysis skills. Most notably, I pushed for high school STEM outreach by organizing public high school field trips to tour our laboratory facilities.

Hawai'I Region

In my junior year of college, I was early-accepted into Teach for America after completing a rigorous multi-step interview process against a pool of over 50,000 applicants. In the program, I was sent to Hawaii to teach in an underprivileged neighborhood for two years while receiving professional training. Teach for America Hawaii partnered with Johns Hopkins University in order for the corps members to obtain a masters degree while in service.

Phoenix Institute

As a School Operations Manager through the Teach For America program, I was in charge of setting-up and preparing all the logistics at Imagine Avondale Elementary School for 60 staff members and 150 students. My responsibilities included organizing the school systems to ensure a seamless school day, accommodating 6 different regional visits to our school site, facilitating school wide assessments, training corps members on data usage and maintaining strong communication and relationships with the whole school.

University Of California, San Diego

Served as a Teaching Assistant (TA) for Human Nutrition and Neurobiology. Became the head TA for Human Nutrition in 2015. My duties included setting up room reservations for review sessions, leading the review sessions, hosting weekly office hours and coordinating exam grading sessions.

Led the squad for two years and worked closely together with the UCSD Athletic Director and Greek community. Most notable achievement was leading a spirit rally during welcome week where over 5,000 freshmen attended.

Tutored various high school and college subjects. High school subjects included AP US History, Algebra 2, Geometry, Humanities 10 and AP Biology. College subjects included Organic Chemistry, Biology and Calculus.

Taught elementary mathematics at the K-2nd grade level for three classes that ranged from 10-15 students. My students ranged from 4-7 years old and all had varying mathematical abilities. It was my role to differentiate lessons for the various levels and to ensure every child was progressing.

Served as the main liaison between the athletic and greek community. Coordinated large-scale events of up to 500+ people prior to main sporting games. Sought to improve school spirit by boosting game attendance.
