Developed and wrote the Configuration Management Plan (CMP) in accordance with RMF standards and EIA649c best practices. Organized artifacts to prepare for Authority to Operate inspection and audit. Maintained flexibility when mission changed from ATO acquisition to Certificate to Field (CtF) acquisition under existing client ATO. Facilitated conversations based on importance of patch management for vulnerabilities, supporting teammates in documenting processes to meeting audit requirements. The outcome of which established more transparency in vulnerability/patch scans leading to establishment of clear repeatable process for actioning patch management.

Supports Operations of the FORSCOM G6 in operations analysis and process management.

The Configuration Manager is responsible for aiding the STG team in implementing ITIL standards to the HQ IT Infrastructure. This includes implementing an organized repeatable process for software installations for client’s workstations. Management of all software utilized on FORSCOM HQ workstations. Building a database of all computers on each network, identifying their assigned user and building the connection to which software is installed on every computer. The long-term product to be developed is the Configuration Management Database. By working with IMOs from each of the directorates, talking with the users and working with the MSD team, collecting the users, the assets, and the software the team is able to start consolidating all of this information for the betterment of the MSD. With much care and detailed analysis, filtering data provided by other G6 teams to validate the accuracy of the information prior to the data being added and loaded into the CMDB. CM has identified processes, which could be better aligned for optimal time management. Examples being the general request for new computer assets, software installation, software acquisition, full lifecycle process for every users machine. The goal output of the CMDB is being able to identify exactly how much of a financial investment is made by the HQ for each user. This provides a better assessment of the true cost of ownership for all internally built applications and software packages. By knowing what is installed where and who has it, the G6 is better situated to budget for all software renewals. CM works daily with clients to understand their needs and to build in efficiently getting their software updated and installed by the service desk.

FORSCOM Augmentation Unit (FAU), Fort Bragg, NCSupport the operational needs of Forces Command located at Fort Bragg North Carolina. Rebuilt the Family Readiness Program, began the publication of a quarterly FRG newsletter to connect all Soldiers families with the unit operations. Fills in at the FORSCOM G6 as needed, has aided the G6 IA/Cyber security Department in writing Information Assurance standard operating procedures IOT ease the transition for new Information Assurance Managers.

Spearheaded the implementation of Configuration Management for an organization which previously lacked formal process management and asset tracking. Working with the Uniformed staff of the G6 and fellow DSFG team members, facilitating process management, asset tracking and formalizing the network management for a internal network. Identify areas in need of structure and work with the section within G6 to aid in development of standards and tracking. Research for hardware and software requested for use on the network for NETCOM and DISA approved solutions. Develop new operating procedures and processes for tractability and elevated productivity with in the network, server, client services, COMSEC, and Cyber sections of the G6. Organize tactical equipment data for operations OIC to facilitate accurate view of current communications positioning. Work with network and server infrastructure team to track lifecycle refresh of all network infrastructure for both low and high side data transmission.
