I'm an Assistant Professor at The University of Wisconsin-Madison working on studies of variability in active galactic nuclei. I focus on investigating the physics, structure, and environment within the active galaxies using reverberation mapping of broad emission lines and broad absorption line variability. I completed my PhD at the Ohio State University in 2013. While at OSU, I was also heavily involved with the planetarium, both as the planetarium coordinator and as a member of the committee overseeing the renovation process. I spent one year as the interim planetarium director at OSU as we brought our newly-renovated facility up on its feet, developing planetarium programming for public outreach events and undergraduate courses, training graduate students and volunteers, presenting shows to the public, and managing all of the planetarium's events and outreach programs. I have a very strong interest in teaching and outreach, and have accrued much teaching experience over the years, both in formal classroom teaching and in public outreach.
