I began my career in education as an elementary teacher within the Montessori school system. Since then, I have been an educational researcher and consultant with school boards in Ontario, and have international experience in education as a faculty member in the University of San Diego’s Leadership Studies department, where I taught in the principal qualification program as well as in the department’s leadership programs. I am currently appointed to the Graduate and Undergraduate Studies in Education department as an Associate Professor at Brock University, where I teach in the Administration and Leadership in Education program. My research interests stem from my experiences in the classroom as well as my work with school leaders and teachers, and include educational leadership, school-community relations, schools as communities, family involvement in schooling, values and ethics in education, social justice, professional learning communities, and educational reform. I maintain an active research agenda in these areas, and have presented and published work regionally, nationally and internationally.
