I work with both foreign and Russian clients; the international side of my practice sees me acting primarily as a Russian family lawyer where one party, or both, is a foreign national. Although my area of expertise is extensive, including all aspects of Civil, Property, Tax, Inheritance, Housing, Family and Labour Law related to individuals, my work is almost exclusively devoted to international Family Law cases. My main area of legal practice: multi jurisdictional divorce cases, complex property settlements, pre-nuptial agreements and children matters. I have extensive experience of work with high net worth clients and high profile matrimonial cases.

It was a challenging and successful experience of getting a newly established Family Law section of the firm off the ground. The range of issues I dealt with varied from the basic registration of the company with the Family Courts, handling client's matters to business promotion. During my time at the firm I dealt with international and interstate family matters, prenuptial agreements, property settlements, parenting disputes and child abduction cases.

Being admitted to practice in NSW my role within Meyer Partners continued to be focused on dealing with Australian family law cases concerning complex property cases involving family company structures and trust set ups, parenting matters, financial agreements, as well as dealing with cases with an international aspect to them.

I continued to work in my new role as a foreign lawyer, mainly as a consultant, providing top tier family law firms in the UK, Australia, the Netherlands and the US with advice on cross-jurisdictional matters with connection to Russia. I acted (and continue to act) as an expert in Russian Family Law, and provided my reports to the High Court of Justice of England and Wales, Family Court of Australia, Supreme Court of the Netherlands and other.Upon the completion of my Juris Doctor degree at the UNSW in November 2012 with high marks my role within Meyer Partners changed to dealing with strictly Australian family law cases. Those involved complex property and parenting matters, financial agreements. I undertook some international cases dealing with jurisdictional issues, financial agreements.

I focused my practice on the civil litigation, specializing in Family Law matters. I started working with English speaking clients residing in Russia and abroad representing them in Family and Property disputes in Russian courts. I set up the first legal website in Russia in the English language (www.divorceinrussia.com) designed as an entry point for those non-Russian speakers needing legal assistance in family matters, including relevant Russian laws, codes and documents relating to Domestic and International Family Law as well as my comments on some issues relating to family legal matters. Due to there being no division between solicitors and barristers in Russia, I handled my clients’ matters from the beginning to the end doing the work that would be attributable to solicitors and barristers roles in Australia. I continued undertaking some defence criminal litigation work, mainly in matters concerning economic crimes.

I started my career at the Bar as a defence criminal lawyer. Working in Chambers within the Moscow Region Court (the court exercising general appeal jurisdiction and a first instance jurisdiction to hear grave and complex criminal matters), I defended the accused in armed robbery, fraud and other economic crimes. I also undertook some civil litigation work in District Courts of Moscow representing my clients in employment, family, wills and estate disputes.

The academic side of my work has always been a professional priority, allowing me to continue to improve my knowledge and skills as a practicing lawyer. During my time as a lecturer at the Moscow State Law Academy, one of the top law schools in Russia, I taught Criminal Law to second and third year students, the subjects of the General Principles of Criminal Law and the Special Part of the Criminal Code respectively. I actively participated in writing for the Moscow State Law Academy Journal on the issues related to the area of Criminal Law.
