Greater Seattle Area

The English Language Institute is an intensive pre-college English language program for adult ELLs. As Assistant Professor, I designed and implemented my own courses to meet college learning goals and student learning objectives. I supplemented student's education with online CANVAS modules. In addition to classroom work, I supported colleagues through collaboration and curriculum review. I enjoyed my time at Bellevue very much; they are truly a wonderful group of educators and students!

Northeastern University's Global Pathways program is designed to teach university survival skills to international students. Within the guidelines of university-given course titles and learning goals, I crafted my own courses and syllabi. I taught culture and communication skills to graduate students who would be accepted to Northeastern University upon completion of the program. I also taught writing and logic to international soon-to-be undergraduates. Through this work, I mastered both Blackboard and Turnitin. I gained so much from my time at Northeastern, including a solid sense of how to integrate tech into instructional design, and best practices for motivating adult learners.

BHCC is a great community college. In my position in the English Language Department, I designed and taught speaking, writing, and grammar classes and enjoyed every minute of it. The faculty are collaborative and caring, and the students are highly motivated and a joy to teach!
