Association Leadership Partners (ALP) began with a conversation several years ago. As association professionals, we participated and collaborated through an “idea swap” hosted by our own professional organization (ASAE). Those conversations of sharing best practices and ideas while working for our respective associations began a relationship that has now culminated into our own company. We have a combined 50 years of experience in association management with diverse backgrounds that include governance, meeting planning, education, marketing, public relations, leadership development and business development. Management: Responsible for the overall management of department of seventeen (17) and twenty six (26) clients. Managed component executive directors and other staff who support operational functions. Responsible for all department activities to facilitate the implementation of component strategic plans, maintained and developed a positive volunteer engagement culture within the component client organization, and monitored scope of work. AMS supported over 500 leadership positions and more than 200 committees. The department plans 62 conferences, 30 webinars and 536 conference calls yearly.Business Development and Contract Negotiations: Promoted and marketed APTA component management service to new and renewing components clients. Lead on negotiation of management agreements, to include scope of work, between APTA and component clients.Doubled the number of clients by establishing trust and showing value.
