Collection Development and Management: - Liaised with Faculty staff in order to ensure the needs for taught programmes were met and that research collections were developed and maintained. - OCLC analyses of other Library collections to ascertain what gaps needed to be filled in the areas I was responsible for. - I took part in a collection weeding project of the entire Library collection in general and the popular reading collection in particular.Delivery of training and guidance: - I planned a tour and talk demonstrating and explaining the Library's resources for Brazilian students participating in the Science without Borders programme. - I frequently answered queries from both students and staff regarding locating articles and other issues.LibGuides: - I have created a LibGuide page displaying information of the Library's map holdings, highlighting where OSI maps were located, and materials related to maps and map-reading. - I also created a LibGuide displaying information regarding the Library's popular reading collection.Continuous Professional Development. - I attended various Library Familiarisation sessions which gave me a valuable introduction to the processes and workflows of different departments within the Library itself. - In April 2015 I attended a seminar in UL regarding the areas of student retention and success. - In May 2015 I attended an mLearning Workshop in Mary Immaculate College which showcased how mobile learning can be effectively used by both teachers and students in the classroom. - In June 2015 I attended the CONUL conference which provided me with a lot of insightful information regarding how Libraries across the country are continuing to promote themselves and contribute to academic learning.
