Morocco

Optimized wastewater treatment performance of a hybrid (staged) wetland pilot system through field, laboratory and reporting work. Tested chemical oxygen demand, biochemical oxygen demand, total suspended solids, and fecal coliform count of wastewater samples collected at various points across the wetland, to assess the system’s capacity to provide effluent that meets Morocco’s national irrigation water quality standards. Improved wetland functionality and generated valuable results relating to system effectiveness.

Groupe Qualitas is a subsidiary of SNC-Lavalin, one of the largest group of engineering and construction firms in the world. Groupe Qualitas offers services in materials engineering, geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering, pavement engineering and roofing and waterproofing services. I was responsible for creating extensive AutoCAD plans of concrete cracking from Ottawa’s Hydro Electric penstocks for repair, and evaluating vane shear test results of clayey soils to determine bearing capacity profiles for highway projects. I also assisted with site inspections to ensure timely project completion and coordination with clients and contractors.

I was part of the Official Languages and Translation Division, where public service workers are trained for higher level English and French language aptitude. I was responsible for creating and modifying Excel reports that would later be used as reference by the entire division, corresponding with second language applicants to arrange language assessment meetings, and coordinating logistics and overseeing second-language training and evaluation requests and appointments.
