Glen Keen Farm & Visitor Centre is located on the Wild Atlantic Way on the R335 just 6 miles outside Louisburgh, Co.Mayo. The visitor centre has a Cafe, Craft Shop and outdoor farm demonstration areas. Other activities include self-guided farm nature walks where you can visit an ancient ring fort dating back to the 5th century or visit a Cilin, an ancient burial site. Visitors can immerse themselves in the beautiful surroundings of the Sheaffrey & Mweelrea mountain ranges and absorb the daily bird song & the rippling sound of the Carrowniskey river. Glen Keen is located in an EU designated Special Area of Conservation, this is one of the most pituresque areas of Europe, visitors can see reminisce of the Famine through untouched potato ridges (Lazy Beds) and abandoned ruins of famine houses which, have remained intact over the centuries.
