I am currently a healthcare publications editor and writer at Karger Publishers with particular responsibility for the Fast Facts for Patients suite of resources. We are especially focused on rare diseases, oncology, hematology and women's health.My current role sees me writing and overseeing the development of patient resources, including booklets, information sheets, website content and video scripts. I also write plain language summaries, a task that requires simplifying complex medical and scientific information into clear, concise language. It is a skill I also bring to my consulting role as a reviewer of plain language summaries of research for a number of international publishers.Passionate about patient engagement, patient centricity and empowerment in healthcare and healthcare publications, I routinely collaborate with patients in focus groups and patient advocacy organizations. I am an experienced and engaging public speaker, especially on the topics of patient centricity, health literacy and plain language summaries of research. I have good communication skills, am personable and am at my best when collaborating with diverse stakeholders.In my personal time, I regularly collaborate on research projects in the areas of patient communication, and plain language summaries and AI. I have also published research on the theme of language and healthcare information.Formerly, and for many years, I worked in tertiary education in Switzerland.
