Cathi Boze was appointed the first full-time Mariposa County Agricultural Commissioner/Sealer of Weights and Measures on May 6, 2003. She attended high school at Colegio Internacional de Carabobo in Venezuela and was a Presidential Scholar (one of two from outside the United States), traveling to Washington, D. C. to meet with President Richard Nixon. Cathi received her B.S. in Agricultural Economics and International Development from UC Davis and a M.S. in Agricultural Economics from the University of Hawaii while an intern at the East West Center in Honolulu. Cathi did her thesis research on marketing of selected cash crops in American Samoa, Western Samoa, Tahiti, Australia, New Zealand, and the Kingdom of Tonga. She began her career in Mariposa County with Agricultural Commissioner Donald Cripe as an agricultural inspector, adding weights & measures duties in 1991, and becoming deputy agricultural commissioner/sealer in 1999. Cathi lives on a ranch in Catheys Valley and is married to Mitch and has one daughter.
