I coordinated federal application to establish the Old Town Keller Foundation as a 501c3 public charity determined to promote the history of the Keller area. We were approved in late 2012; in October 2013 we saved a 90 year old house on Main Street from demolition, moved it to a bit of unused city park on Bates Street and exactly one year later opened our Wild Rose Heritage Center. Just over a year ago we then opened our Station House Train Museum in a house that became available just across the street - with both inside and outside railroad memorabilia. We now have a third house on Bates and hope to open a local research room next summer. Our facilities are open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11:00 - 3:00 and any time by appointment (817-228-3929).

The Old Town Keller Foundation (OTKF) is a 501c3 public charity dedicated to enhancing, promoting, and protecting the heritage of Keller Texas including Old Town Keller and those Keller sites and events that composed and shaped this area from the late 19th century though the mid-20th century. The Board of OTKF successfully opened the Wild Rose Heritage Center after moving the 90+ year old Jarvies house from Main Street. The house had been scheduled for demolition but we managed to gain an agreement with the owner that we could have the house if we moved it. It now is located at 133 E. Bates in Old Town Keller. It opened as The Wild Rose Heritage Center on October 7, 2014, one year from the date it was moved. It is open for business every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m, and at other times by appointment. The Center celebrates and promotes the heritage of Keller and the surrounding area; it functions as a museum, an event center for small meetings and celebrations, and as an information center for the city. As Board Chair, my job is to be sure that sufficient funds are raised and to promote our mission in the Keller area. We have several projects underway - such as researching early Keller families, events, and sites; offering Heritage Markers to appropriate sites, developing walking and driving tours of old town and surrounding historic areas, forming partnerships with other non-profits, continued research of the area, and organizing a youth group interested in exploring and helping to promote Keller's rich history. Our museum displays haveincluded various aspects of area history. Our newest displays include Fashions Over the Years and Keller aea schools over time. We offer memberships and certainly warmly welcome volunteers and donations. Rental rates for use of the museum as a backdrop for a small meeting or event are very reasonable.
