Baltimore County, Maryland

In 2008, I founded an all-volunteer organization that pushed for a long-term solution to elementary school overcrowding in the Towson, Maryland area. Our efforts involved advocacy at the county and state level, extensive media outreach, and community organizing. I took a fact- and research-based approach to solving problems, and am proud to have brought together Democrats and Republicans on this important issue.We were successful in convincing Baltimore County to construct two new elementary schools -- West Towson and Mays Chapel -- plus additions or major renovations at Hampton Elementary, Stoneleigh Elementary and Dumbarton Middle. And Rodgers Forge Elementary, then the most overcrowded school in Maryland, finally saw relief. More recently, I used my advocacy skills to help push for a hybrid elected school board in Baltimore County, and served as informal advisor to government officials, and community advocates throughout the state.Today, as a member of the Maryland House of Delegates, education issues are still a top priority for me.

Towson, Maryland

I have dual responsibilities for this estates and trusts court.In my Mediation Coordinator role, I recruit, train and coordinate mediators for two different court-appointed mediation panels. I assess legal disputes brought to the attention of the court, and recommend referral to mediation when necessary. I draft court orders, track cases and report their outcomes. And I also serve as an information source to attorneys and their clients.As a Law Clerk, I research case law, statutes, land records and case histories. I draft orders and judgments for judges, and attend hearings.

Baltimore County, Maryland

I planned and executed a Baltimore County Council campaign on behalf of Mike Ertel, a local community leader. I was responsible for fundraising, direct mail, canvassing, get-out-the-vote efforts, and media relations. I am proud to say that we won the Democratic primary, beating out two better-funded candidates -- one of whom was backed by the Baltimore County Executive.

42Nd District, Maryland

I oversaw the bipartisan citizens'​ committee responsible for the distribution of Senatorial Scholarship funds, on behalf of Maryland State Senator Jim Brochin. I set standards for the review process, reviewed student applications and essays, and organized and ran meetings.

I was responsible for product development at a greeting card company whose clients included National Geographic, the Sierra Club and the World Wildlife fund.

I was responsible for internal and external communication of this entrepreneurial direct-response company.
