She once left the industry and tried her hand at being a chef. It lasted six months.

The dot.com crash took place as the business was set to launch and after some unsuccessful merger negotiations, Catherine subsequently accepted a marketing role with her investors, organising Australia's first dot.com conference and a range of support materials for entrepreneurs.
