I will be teaching science to grades 1-6. I am very happy to start planning and take over where the fantastically talented Wendy Hunt left off. I know that I have big shoes to fill. I can't wait to get started and implement all I learned at C.B.U.

I taught music to the two pre-school classes and the kindergarten. I used props and technology to help them with phonemic awareness, early reading skills and sequencing skills. We learned a variety of songs, which they sang to my guitar accompaniment. I brought in a wide variety of instruments for them to experiment with.

Supervised classrooms of young children as they moved through their day. -Implemented lesson plans in keeping with their routine, calendar, music, story, lunch, recess, etc. -Guided students during hallway movement and hand washing routines. -Supervised students while eating lunch.

-Developed a Unit Plan using a variety of literature genres to teach students about the Civil Rights Era -Facilitated cooperative learning during Literature Circles -Supervised students as we moved from the classroom to the library and/or computer labs in various buildings on campus -Met with other 6th grade teachers daily to discuss students, upcoming activities, curriculum planning, and other issues

I am currently finishing the school year, teaching kindergarten enrichment in the afternoons at MHA. I have enjoyed every day with my students this year. They have been working so hard on early math skills, science and language arts. They are so adorable and their progress has been inspiring. They are very excited about the world around them. I have been privileged to be their teacher and to be with them in their kindergarten year. I have learned so much.

I was very privileged to be part of a great team of teachers at Immaculate Conception Cathedral Elementary. I loved teaching science to my wonderful fourth and fifth grade classes. I was so sorry that the school's budget and enrollment took such a downward turn resulting in the layoffs. It was a wonderful year of learning for me. I hope that I made science fun, engaging and less intimidating for all. My students were all great people there and awesome learners!

I taught a class on Rocks and Minerals. In addition I also taught a class on Dinosaurs and Fossils. I did Gallery Interpretation on Minerals in the sparkling, beautiful Mineral Gallery. All of these classes had audience members ranging in ages from preschool to adults. In addition, I designed and construct all sorts of things for the now defunct CTI IMAX Discovery Room. The Discovery Room was a hands-on learning facility for all ages that presented more learning about the featured movie showing in the IMAX.

-Developed lesson plans for two grade levels of inquiry based learning. -Facilitated student exploration through experimentation -Integrated technology by designing projects for students to complete in computer lab. -Supervised students during field trips and weekly Mass.; -Instructed groups of 10-20 in our Rocks and Minerals lab classes for field trips. -Developed interactive, hands-on activities for the IMAX Discovery Room - Audited and maintained Traveling Suitcase Exhibits as part of a team -Communicated with Public Relations Department, facilitating television and radio interviews concerning upcoming events.
