I'm a curriculum designer and teacher educator. I co-founded YURI Education Project, an education consultancy that creates resources for cultural institutions and PK-12 students. We specialize in designing accessible, engaging curriculum about Asian American history and stories. YURI has worked for the New York City Department of Education, Sesame Street, WNET Group, WETA, ITVS, and the Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery and Asian Pacific American Center.A former public school teacher, I'm a research professional with a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Curriculum & Teaching from Teachers College, Columbia University. My academic specialties are place-based learning, public memory, and the teaching and learning of historical violence.Currently, I teach curriculum design and instructional leadership courses at the City University of New York and Teachers College, Columbia University. Mentoring future public school teachers and collaborating with educators on curriculum are my favorite parts of my job. I love working on new curriculum projects for PK-12 students and adult learners! I take on work for YURI Education Project (PK-12 and Asian American-related curricula) and as an independent education consultant for organizations and companies.
