Key project objectives: - Establishing a commissioning pathway for microbiology screening and HLA typing of deceased organ donors. - Introducing a service specification for laboratories performing donor characterisation testing. - Developing a system to enable the electronic transfer of donor microbiology screening and HLA typing information from laboratory LIMS to NHSBT IT systems.

I worked within a highly regulated environment, ensuring all testing complied with the required standards in respect to documentation, regulatory and legislative requirements, cGMP and health and safety.Duties included:• Performing immunological (e.g. Potency (FFA), HA) testing • Carrying out laboratory maintenance/housekeeping self-inspections • Documentation of laboratory results in accordance with cGMP procedures (including completion of LIMS electronic data), including the investigations of deviations.• Writing and execution of laboratory protocols and reports. Ensured that laboratory test reports/log books, temperature charts were accurately completed in a timely manner to ensure adherence to laboratory procedures and cGMP.
