Design can change how we think and feel – this has been a leading belief throughout my career. I am interested in the ways in which people interact with spaces and with each other, and how architecture creates and shapes communities. I like to question the way things are and to develop new conditions and approaches. After working at Universal for over a decade I have recently joined Piercy&Co, co-leading the Design Studio together with Fiona Neil. Our small but growing team is developing the company's methodology and approach to interiors, furniture and objects, as well as conducting broader scale research pieces. At the nexus of design, research, architecture and strategy, my role continues to investigate design within the bigger picture of societal changes and the world as a whole. Talks / Lectures I regularly speak at design events, festivals and universities. Most recently I spoke with TOG's Nasim Koerting about 'Design for Change - Exploring the future of work' at LDF 2020.Design ActivismI co-founded Studio MiCat with Michael Garnett in 2016. In our projects we use design to break down and illustrate complex processes, connections and thought models, as a means to engage a wide audience and catalyse debate around issues of our time. We love making and believe that it is a powerful way to connect with others. We collaborated with There Project and Proud Studio on the 'Non-Pavilion' installation at the V&A during LDF2019, exploring the idea of economic ‘degrowth’ in the context of the design world. www.micat.org
