The RPH Research Foundation was established in 1983 to improve the quality of healthcare in Western Australia. This independent, not-for-profit organisation has its own research facility dedicated to promoting research on the Royal Perth Hospital campus, and in collaboration with other research organisations. The Foundation funds up to $1.7m each year in direct research funding including: springboard grants, innovation and impact grants, career advancement clinical fellowships, infrastructure funding rounds, and NHMRC top-up funding.

The Perth Blood Institute (PBI) is a charitable, not-for-profit, haematology research organisation. PBI conducts medical research into blood disorders, including their causes, prevention and treatment options; facilitates access to high quality clinical trials for people affected by blood disorders; and improves the provision of information about blood disorders to patients and their families. The largest haematology clinical research centre in WA, PBI’s focus is on providing outstanding patient care with an ethical and sustainable approach.

The State Records Office of Western Australia is the Western Australian public records authority with responsibility for managing, preserving and providing access to the State's archives. The State Records Office operates as an independent Government agency within the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries.The role of the State Archivist is to lead the strategic direction of government in the management of the State's paper and digital information assets, to oversight compliance with the State Records Act 2000 and to promote the value of the historic State archives collection to community stakeholder groups.

The Foundation for the WA Museum plays a critical role in encouraging investment in the WA Museum Boola Bardip to help preserve its unique cultural and scientific heritage and to present it to Western Australians and wider audiences.As Director of the Foundation, Cate was responsible for leading a successful donor development program, and developing strategic fundraising and promotional events to showcase the Museum to new corporate stakeholders.

The National Archives is a non-ministerial government department. Its parent department is the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.With responsibility for Public Affairs Cate led the press and publicity; marketing and development; and events and exhibitions departments of The National Archives, responsible for strategic negotiation and facilitation across a range of public and private partnerships and community engagement. Cate was also responsible for a significant change management process in reviewing the organisation's brand, that led to a change of name from the Public Record Office to the National Archives.

The National Council on Archives is a representative council bringing together the major bodies and organisations concerned with the care, custody and enjoyment of the documentary heritage of the UK in support of an open and transparent society.As the inaugural Fundraising Advisor Cate succeeded in making the role highly visible within the sector through a program of consultations, presentations, workshops, negotiations and facilitation between lead groups. She successfully lobbied the Heritage Lottery Fund to increase its support for the sector. Cate conceived and developed collaborative projects and frameworks, including the English archive network Access to Archives, which entailed the development of a complex UK wide budget and funding formula. Skilled liaison across a diverse membership base was critical to her success in this role.

Richard House Trust is London's first children's hospice for life-limited and life-threatened children.Cate is experienced in major donor development. She was responsible for the capital campaign to build Richard Trust, securing one of the largest grants from the National Lottery Charities Board at that time; a principal donor for the Day Care Centre; and implementing a successful community fundraising program. The role encompassed significant community stakeholder engagement to ensure acceptance within the community.
