I joined Mourant’s Commercial Litigation team in November 2015. I spent six months in the Cayman Islands (practising BVI law) following the passage of Hurricane Irma in September 2017 and returned to the BVI in April 2018. In 2019 I was promoted to Counsel and in March 2021 I joined Mourant’s Hong Kong Litigation and Restructuring & Insolvency team, advising on BVI and Cayman law matters.I have a broad experience of offshore commercial litigation and insolvency work and my practice included corporate insolvency, shareholder disputes and debt recovery. Whilst based in the BVI I appeared before the BVI Commercial Court. I have a wide knowledge of offshore procedure and practice and the types of disputes which are regularly heard by the Courts in the BVI and in the Cayman Islands. I advised liquidators, receivers, listed and privately held companies, company directors and trustees on domestic and cross border disputes and I advised creditors, debtors and liquidators on restructuring and insolvency matters. I also provided regulatory advice (SARs, TIEAs etc), handled high value probate matters and applications seeking admission to practice in the BVI.

During my traineeship with Biggart Baillie I continued to tutor part-time on the online personal injury course offered by the GGSL. I was invited by Professor Charles Hennessy to expand my role and latterly assisted with assessment of student performance in addition.

I enjoyed a year working in academia assisting the professors and tutors of the Glasgow Graduate School of Law to prepare and deliver the Diploma in Legal Practice to post graduate Scots law students. My responsibilities included online tutoring, administration of assessments and examinations, administration of admission to the DLP and preparing course materials.
