Catriona is a member of HFW's global Knowledge team, supporting HFW's British Virgin Islands, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Singapore offices and their clients. As Knowledge Counsel, Catriona is also involved in several firmwide knowledge management and legal training projects.Prior to working in knowledge management, Catriona was a disputes fee earner and has a broad experience of general commercial litigation work, including corporate and personal insolvency, corporate disputes, professional indemnity claims and debt recovery work. She regularly advised creditors, liquidators, receivers, company directors, trustees and registered agents in complex, cross border disputes and insolvencies. Catriona has a keen interest in ADR, in particular mediation and arbitration. Catriona qualified in 2009 and began her practice in Scotland and is a member of the Law Society of Scotland. Catriona began her offshore practice in 2015 in the BVI and is a qualified BVI Legal Practitioner. In 2021, Catriona relocated to Hong Kong. She is a Registered Foreign Lawyer regulated by the Law Society of Hong Kong. Catriona is a member of INSOL, IWIRC, Women in Law and the Restructuring and Insolvency Faculty of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She was a director of IWIRC Hong Kong August 2021 - June 2022. Catriona is also a member of the BVI Bar Association, RISA BVI, and the Womens' Offshore Network. She was a director of RISA BVI April 2017 - April 2019.

I spent six months in the Cayman Islands (practising BVI law) following the passage of Hurricane Irma in September 2017 and returned to the BVI in April 2018. In 2019 I was promoted to Counsel and in March 2021 I joined Mourant’s Hong Kong Litigation and Restructuring & Insolvency team, advising on BVI and Cayman law matters.I have a broad experience of offshore commercial litigation and insolvency work and my practice included corporate insolvency, shareholder disputes and debt recovery.
