As a Deputy Sheriff I Patrol the streets, take calls, make arrest's, do community Policing request's, back up other Deputies. My Interest's were more into traffic enforcement so I had radar in my unit, then transferred into the traffic division ( motor cycle) we worked crashes, traffic initiatives, Dignitary escorts, funeral escorts and watches. We were part of the Honor Guard. I now am with Court Services, Court House Security. My unit is the security for the perimeter of the Governmental campus as we call it. The Gov. campus consist of a (4) four block area in the center of DOWNTOWN West Palm Beach, FL, encompassing Main court house, State Attorney and Public Defenders bldg, Governmental Center ( county commissioners are housed) and (2) two (6) six story garages and (1) open air parking lot. the unit I am in is responsible for the security of these and, take any reports that occur outside of the court rooms. In September of 2015 I transferred some 30+ miles to the West to our WEST County Court House here in Palm Beach County. The court house is much smaller but the same duties.

Lake Clarke Shores/ Palm Beach County

Patrol the town during the hours of 11:00 pm to 7:00 am enforcing town ordinances, state laws monitoring the teletype also giving crime prevention seminars to town businesses and residences and being Mr. McGruff at the parades and parties for the town.

My duties as a police service aide varied from traffic crash investigation, city code enforcement to checking the timed parking ( parking meters on beach ) and 2 hour parking along downtown streets. There were many errands for the department that had to be taken care of as well.

I worked the 11 - 7 shift on the Medical surgical floor of the Martin Memorial Hospital in Stuart, FL. I assisted the RN and the LPN with dressing changes, filled out diet charts, checked all vital signs for the floor, charted new patients and readied them for their surgeries each morning.
