It took only three years for Cathy Beardsley to turn startup Segpay into a profitable company. As President and CEO, Beardsley oversees the day-to-day operations and long-term strategic planning for the company. Segpay is one of four companies approved by Visa USA to operate as a high risk Internet Payment Service Provider (IPSP) in the U.S. With more than 600 merchants, Segpay has become a top brand among IPSP’s in the U.S. and Europe.Segpay offers webmasters a state-of-the-art billing platform that provides real time credit card, direct-debit and check authorization services; automated password management systems; advanced risk management; marketing tools; real time sales reporting; and an online Web interface that makes account changes fast and convenient. Beardsley has more than a dozen years of experience leading and managing payment processing companies. Prior to founding Segpay, Beardsley was President for the Internet Billing Company (iBill). While at iBill she managed the sales, product development, marketing of the company. She was part of the management team that developed the operational strategy that lead to the successful sale of the company to Intercept in April of 2002 for $112 Million. Prior to her IPSP work, Beardsley spent seven years with telecom giant MCI WorldCom. As Regional Business Manager, she was responsible for the allocation of a $600 million annual revenue plan to 10 branches. When WorldCom bought MCI, Beardsley took a key role ensuring the successful integration of the two companies. Cathy earned a B.A. in Business Administration/ Marketing from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo and a MBA in Business Administration/Finance from the University of Santa Clara. Outside of the office, Cathy, a formerly nationally-ranked swimmer, enjoys golf, the gym and keeping up with her three children.
