I teach first-year writing courses that focus on developing critical thinking and writing skills. I also teach in the university's Disability Studies program, where I created new classes on disabilities in literature and disabilities in comics and graphic literature.

I managed the development of an online encyclopedia of Louisiana history and culture, which involved a wide variety of tasks: creating the initial taxonomy of the site, identifying the appropriate content management system, contracting with database/CMS consultant, supervising staff, generating and monitoring metadata, managing annual budget, making presentations on the new digital project to potential partners, and researching, writing, and editing encyclopedia entries. I also edited, wrote, proofread a number of the organization's publications, from press releases to newsletters to grant proposals.

I taught courses on the history of Early Modern Europe and the history of the Tudor/Stuart period in England.

Harvey Mudd College is a four-year liberal arts college that graduates engineers, mathematicians, computer scientists, and physicists. I taught freshman writing, literature, and history. Specific courses I offered were Early Modern Europe, Arthurian Literature, and freshman seminars on American nature writing, monster culture, and graphic literature.

I taught courses in British history, gender in the Renaissance, and in book history.

As senior editor, I worked primarily on book manuscripts and did substantial editing and revising to texts, consulting with graphic designers on cover design and illustrations, and filing copyright forms. I also edited, wrote, proofread a number of the organization's publications, from press releases to newsletters to grant proposals.
