About Cathy Hewitt
I'm currently completing an MA in Corporate Communications, Marketing and PR at the University of Leeds. Alongside my studies, I worked as part of the Marketing and Digital strategy team for the 2024 Empower Conference - the largest led student conference in the country - aimed at inspiring young people who are interested in working in major business sectors.I am also the Project Manager for Yorkshire Netball 50. In this role, I am working towards producing digital content and in person events to celebrate Yorkshire Netball turning 50 in 2024.In addition to my volunteering and studies in Communications, Marketing and PR, I am a Netball coach for Leeds Rhinos Netball’s U17 PDP team and the University of Leeds 3s and 4s teams.

I worked as part of the marketing team to promote the Empower Conference 2024. The conference was aimed at inspiring the next generation of female leaders in business.As part of this team, I worked collaboratively to create a new logo, reels, TikTok’s, square posts, posters, booklets to promote the conference. I also organised a stall in the University of Leeds Business School where we could talk to people directly about the conference. I also acquired significant earned media in outlets aimed at our target audience.
