I also assist the Colorado Department of Transportation with DBE/ESB Program development and implementation including managing the Connect2DOT Program, providing client consulting, revamping the ESB Program, revising project specifications and forms for DBE/ESB programs, reporting and collecting public feedback on the FHWA DBE Annual Goal Setting Methodology, providing mandatory ESB Orientations, redeveloping the division website, and conducting outreach to small businesses in the transportation industry. I currently serve as the statewide Program Manager for Connect2DOT, a partnership between the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and the Colorado Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network. The program offers free consulting and training for small businesses interested in doing business with CDOT. We have a wide range of services designed to help small businesses in the transportation industry become more competitive and successful in bidding and contracting with CDOT and other local transportation agencies. COMTO (Conference of Minority Transportation Officials) is a national not-for-profit organization founded in 1971, on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C. COMTO was created to provide a forum for senior minority professionals in the transportation industry. Over the past thirty years, our mandate has evolved to include not only public transportation industry executives, but also professionals at every level of industry encompassing a variety of fields and disciplines. Now, as was then, members are encouraged to share information, opportunities and personal expertise. With 40 chapters throughout the United States, our mission is as relevant today as we strive to provide full access to employment, career and contract opportunities for minorities within the transportation industry. A small group of professionals committed to this mission, founded the Colorado Chapter of COMTO in May 2004.

Co-founder providing strategic corporate direction and consulting services in the areas of business, marketing and outreach strategies for companies ranging in size from Fortune 100 to emerging small business. Specialized in customer research and outreach including surveys, one-on-one interviews, focus groups, facilitated sessions and marketing communications for clients such as the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, NOAA, NIST and UCAR. Developed training curriculum and materials, presented six sets of training courses, providing business consulting and professional development, and created marketing materials for small and disadvantaged businesses (SBE/DBEs) across the state of Colorado. Gathered anecdotal research for CDOT's 2009 Disparity Study and assisted CDOT with DBE program development and goal setting.

Prior to founding two consulting businesses, I was the Vice President of Account Services at Leopard Communications, a marketing communications agency. As a member of the executive team, I provided strategic corporate direction that resulted in a 300% revenue gain over five years. I managed a team of 15 account executives and project managers responsible for over $8 million in revenue.

I was a Senior Consultant at American Management Systems based in Fairfax, Virginia, where I managed large-scale software implementations of Federal Financial System (FFS) and Procurement Desktop at the Library of Congress and U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. I consulted with clients to re-engineer workflow procedures, define system requirements and streamline business processes. I was also was responsible for managing a diversified team of eight analysts managing $5 million in revenue at five client sites.
