Tasks involved process re-engineering, liaison between users and programmers, authored training manuals, developed curriculum and instructed user training, workflow and resource analysis, and critical path determination. Applications included: financials (general ledger, A/P, A/R, budgets and fixed assets), order fulfillment (purchasing, sales order processing, advanced pricing, inventory, and shipping) and MRP• Managed spending and prepared forecast for capital and expense portion of JD Edwards project. Worked with multiple consulting firms to supply additional resources for project• Responsible for organizing, preparing and analyzing an annual operating budget of $450 million involving 20 domestic locations and 6 international locations. Automated the budget process to reduce the staff required by 50%• Member of the “due diligence” acquisition team; reviewed and audited the potential company’s inventory systems and assessed value of the inventory and reserves. We acquired 3 companies over an 18 months• Responsible for monthly income statement, balance sheet and cash flow forecasts to parent company. Prepared domestic location forecasts and consolidated with subsidiary and international locations forecasts• Managed Consignment Warehouse program involving 29 customer locations. Over a three-year period worked to reduce the number of consignments by 79% • Prepared overall design of Physical Inventory and Cycle Count systems. • Responsible for the coordination, review, analysis, preparation and presentations of strategic plans, annual budgets and quarterly estimates for five plant locations. Managed the financial analysis for all special projects (i.e. capital expenditures, price determination, cost containment), developed the design and update of computer based budget and analysis models• Prepared and consolidated OEM Strategic Business Unit budget of $380 million• Revised process for Capital Expenditure Requests and created monthly review of unusual capital spending items to prioritize and control spending. • Managed the design, installation and modifications of systems for Purchasing, Receiving and Accounts Payable, saving $200,000 in expenses annually.• Designed, implemented and managed a two year, $300,000 project, consisting of a state-of-the-art bar code labor and production reporting system that provided accurate production information in real time• Created a flexible Production Resource Scheduling system, which allowed for changes in union rules (UAW). Errors were reduced by 12% and staff for the system was reduced from 3 FTE’s to .5 FTE’s• Developed a barcode attendance system that eliminated friction between company management and the union. The prior method for attendance was manually written attendance cards.
