BBE(IntDes), BArch(Hons1), MAppSc(Research), PhD UNSW, PhD SYD, BOAQ, RAIA, AFHEAAs registered architect, interior designer and academic currently based in Sydney and Newcastle, Australia, I am uniquely positioned at the nexus of academia and industry. Drawing from my extensive experience both locally and abroad, research skillset and network of collaborators, I help my research and industry partners to identify the underlying drivers of complex urban and design problems: with a specific focus on placemaking, identity and urban renewal. I particularly enjoy projects involving a range of diverse community perspectives and their translation into design briefs and architectural solutions. As an interdisciplinary studio educator I am known for the delivery of quality, student-centred learning. I specialise in translating low-budget, community-focused and short-life projects into educational briefs incorporating input from different industry players and design parameters that foster innovation.My scholarly and built work has been published in a number of books and international journals including Architectural Histories, Australian Feminist Studies, Interstices, Architectural Theory Review and IDEA.
