Project is modifying an existing facility for the manufacturing of biodegradable food grade containers from pulp made from switch grass.• Functional lead for all aspects of project controls.• Responsible for both Client and Yates Corporate weekly and monthly project status reporting packages.• Responsible for weekly financial revenue vs cost forecast updates and reporting both internally to projects and externally to corporate management.• Responsible for weekly earned value and quantity tracking and reporting both internally to project and externally to company management.

Manager of cost section of project controls for $6.1 Billion LNG EPCC project. Project will build 3 LNG trains at greenfield site in southern Louisiana and modify an existing import facility for liquefied natural gas export. Responsibilities include:•Functional lead for all aspects of cost control – budgets, commitments, expenditures, forecasts, cost breakdown structure.•Technical oversight of cost specialists assigned to project, both Home Office and Site.•Performance management of cost specialists assigned to project, both Home Office and Site; including annual performance reviews.•Ensure cost forecasts align with current progress and schedule updates.•Lead monthly day long review of all details of EPCC cost forecast, to ensure project management’s alignment and understanding of cost status.•Responsible for development of all summary and detailed cost reports for EPCC and the submittal of said reports to company and joint venture partner management.•Lead management reviews of “Check Estimate” process, incorporating significant quantity growth into project forecast.•Lead and administer the Change Management process and tools.•Lead interface with internal and external audit.

Manager of project controls group assigned to support the Protected Service Water Project. Group consisted of 4 schedulers and 3 cost analysts who supported 10 project managers. The PSW Project is a regulatory driven design/build program with construction occurring in the field as the design is completed. The scope involves replacing the existing station Auxiliary Service Water system with an upgraded high head system and an electrical distribution system to power existing plant equipment that is needed for achieving safe shutdown. The project began in 2006 and is currently scheduled to end in 2015. Current estimated TIC is over $1 Billion.Responsibilities and accomplishments include:• Developed and implemented standard monthly and weekly reports on project metrics.• Re-established monthly project reviews for each of 38 Engineering Change packages.• Revision of monthly Business Meeting package to remove redundant reports and unused data.• Lead three month effort to analyze and revise the project’s P6 schedule. Established new baseline schedule that correlates with six milestone commitments made to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Process involved oversight of individual team reviews, intermittent reviews with management to inform of status, and the hiring external consultant to analyze schedule.• Lead four month effort for funding request package development and submittal for additional $150 million . Package included project plan and project estimate that was reviewed by internal and external parties prior to submittal to senior management and the Duke Nuclear Board of Directors.• Oversight of daily schedule updates and schedule reporting package process.• Oversight of monthly cost reporting/forecasting process and reporting.• Oversight of weekly labor reporting and review and time charges.• Oversight of change management process

Project Controls Supervisor, Major ProjectsSupervisor of newly formed project controls group in major projects organization. The major projects group provides project management and project support for all capital projects at the fleet’s existing nuclear units. The project controls group includes scheduling, cost analysis and estimating. Responsibilities included hiring and performance management of staff in all disciplines, both direct and contract, for a total of 20 direct reports. Lead development of procedures, processes and guidelines for newly established organization – including standard project cash flow, standard estimate package and standard P6 scheduling template.

Cost analyst lead for all retrofit projects for fossil fleet at Alabama Power Company, Mississippi Power Company, Georgia Power Company, and Gulf Power Company. Projects included traditional retrofit work, as well as projects that are categorized as small environmental. Responsible for preparation/ maintenance of project cash flows, monthly forecasts/estimates-to-complete, and analysis of cost variance/cost trends. Provided monthly cost presentation at retrofit project manager’s meeting. Position required strong analytical and time management skills, and the ability to communicate complex information.

Selected to participate in year long leadership development program. Training courses included Performance Enhancing Feedback, Career Development I and II, Advanced Presentation Skills, and Team Development.

Cost analysis department manager responsible for the supervision of the cost analysis staff. Management responsibilities include employee performance reviews, interviewing and hiring of new employees, and annual departmental budgeting. Overall responsibility for the control and cost reporting of all company projects. Developed control techniques and reporting matrix for office projects. Involved in sales presentations to potential clients, as related to company’s project cost control abilities.

Served as functional lead on internal company project involving the implementation of an ERP system by JD Edwards. Responsible for oversight of system setup with regards to Engineering Job Cost. Role involved coordinating major decisions with management and end users of the system. Designed and tested numerous custom reports and system features. Developed training materials and performed training for all Engineering Job Cost end users. Also given responsibility for managing the development and presentation of training materials for entire project. Process involved coordinating the development of training materials for eleven functional leads. Managed a team of documenters, who were responsible for editing training material written by functional leads so that it conformed to company and project approved standards. Both positions required strong time management skills, the ability to “think outsidethe box,” excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work on a team.

Served as cost specialist for individual engineering projects. Responsibilities included project workhour and financial evaluation, equipment cost reports, engineering quantity trending, and change order estimating and tracking. Managed cost on engineering projects valued at up to $30 million. Served as BE&K’s benchmarking associate with CII (Construction Industry Institute) and IPA (Independent Project Analysis). Responsible for yearly collection and analysis of benchmarking data and metrics. Positions required attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.

Administered BE&K Engineering’s financial management system for projects. This system provided project managers with monthly workhour and financial reports on individual contracts. Developed and performed training for system end users in BE&K’s Birmingham, Raleigh, Mobile, and Delaware offices. While in this position, also assisted company management with the preparation and analysis of monthly financial reports and annual company budgets. Position required strong time management and communication skills.
